It’s the first time in our years together that we spend this day together. Last year Bill had to go to San Diego for a funeral and I was left alone for the weekend…. The years before that it was emails and telephone talks. So this year is the real deal! We both aren’t the biggest fans of Valentine’s Day as we don’t need a reminder that we love each other. But it’s a great reason for date night.
And that’s what we are going to do tonight. We have booked a table at a restaurant and we will spend a romantic evening out.
So, Happy Valentine’s Day to all my family and friends!!!

Es ist das erste Mal in unseren Jahren zusammen, dass wir diesen Tag zusammen verbringen. Im letzten Jahr war Bill in San Diego zu einer Beerdigung und ich war allein an dem Wochenende… Und natuerlich die Jahre davor bestanden aus emails und Telefonaten. Dieses Jahr klappt es nun! Wir sind ja beide nicht wirklich grosse Fans dieses Tages, denn wir brauchen keine Erinnerung, dass wir einander lieben. Aber es ist eine gute Gelegenheit, mal wieder zusammen auszugehen.
Und genau das werden wir heute tun. Wir haben einen Tisch in einem Restaurant reserviert und werden eine romantischen Abend verbringen.

Es war sehr schoen. Ich bin froh, dass das Restaurant nicht kitschig dekoriert war. Das Essen war exzellent, und hinterher haben wir noch einen kleinen Spaziergang durch die Nachbarschaft gemacht.
It was really nice. I am glad there wasn’t any corny V-day decoration anywhere. The food was excellent, and afterwards we went for a little walk through the neighborhood.
